Modern and contemporary art in the streets of Bologna
Bologna, 27 – 30 January 2006
A city that mobilises around its modern and contemporary art fair, a city that in January every year sparks lively debate about art, as borne out by the success of the numerous conferences and talks arranged at the Fair and outside; a city that during ARTEFIERA ART FIRST sees numerous art galleries open over the weekend of the Fair and a whole host of ancillary initiatives.
ARTEFIERA ART FIRST 2006 will offer lovers of modern and contemporary art a brand-new initiative, BOLOGNA ART FIRST, that will further strengthen the close ties between the Fair and its city.
BOLOGNA ART FIRST, staged with the assistance of city institutions, will take modern and contemporary art into some of Bologna’s most prestigious venues. Installations by leading contemporary artists will form a ground-breaking route through the streets and piazzas of the town, offering a unique opportunity to discover hidden corners of the city and admire the striking effects of modern art against a backdrop of historic architecture.
The installations of BOLOGNA ART FIRST will be open for viewing from Friday 27 January 2006, concurrent with the opening of ARTEFIERA ART FIRST 2006, through to Sunday 26 February.
The route of BOLOGNA ART FIRST 2006 will take in:
